If you had told me in my younger years I would be into health and fitness I would have died laughing.  I led a life of partying, drinking and living on takeaways and microwave meals.  I was in my 30’s when I made a drastic change in my lifestyle and began a journey that I never would have even dreamed possible.

I was doing the odd class at my local gym, and loved the look of the girls getting ready for competitions.  A couple of trainers had approached me in regards training me to compete, as I was lucky enough to have a suitable physique.  The time was not right for me as I was very busy showing my dogs around NZ at the time.

A change in circumstances, a broken marriage, then an unhealthy relationship brought me to the starting point, when I decided it was now time to focus on me.  A trainer that I had previously met was opening up a training studio and she took me under her wing and a year later I was on stage winning my first title of Miss Nelson Bays Figure – taking out the overall title in my first show.  The seed was planted!

I moved to Brisbane in 2010 to follow my dream of competing at a higher level and being able to work with the best in the industry.  I am from a small, isolated town at the top of the South Island of New Zealand called Nelson.

Previously in NZ I worked in a large gym and was running my own nutrition consultancy, Performance+ Nutrition, on a part time basis.

In 2009 I won both NZ National titles in my divisions for both federations (NZFBB and NABBA) in Figure classes, and achieved my dream of competing internationally when I came to the Gold Coast to compete with the NZ team at the ANB Asia Pacific’s in 2010

Originally I had a return ticket booked and was going to 'explore my options' over here, when I made the drastic decision to pack up my house and relocate at the same time.

Going on to win my division at this show, then following this by winning the Australian Nationals and being selected by ANB to represent Australia at Fitness America's Muscle Mania show in Las Vegas, where I placed top 10 in a class of 32 ladies.

I then progressed to compete in what is known as the worlds most elite Body Building Federation, the IFBB.  I surprised myself by placing 3rd in my first show with them, 2nd at the Australasian titles, and then a dream I never thought possible, winning the Nationals in a very tough line up.  From here I had the honour of achieving my ultimate dream of representing IFBB Australia internationally, when I was selected in the Australian Team to head to Madrid, Spain and compete at the Arnold Classic Europe.  Here I made the finals in a huge lineup of Figure Girls from all over the world.  My next time on stage was winning the Gold Coast Classic Masters Figure title, and going on to place 4th in a large line up at the 1st Arnold Classic Australia.   I placed 2nd in the IFBB QLD state titles after fully prepping myself into my best condition to date on stage, then going on to achieve an unbelievable dream of winning not only my 2nd IFBB Australian National title, making me undefeated at National level, but also taking out the Amateur Olympia Masters Figure title in an incredible international quality line up.

I was offered sponsorship upon arriving in Australia, along with work positions.  From here I worked my way towards my goal of running my own business - Performance+ Nutrition & Training, helping others to a healthier, happier & fitter lifestyle and to see them achieve their dreams and goals fitness wise and excel in their chosen sport.

My own journey has seen me managing supplement stores and also as State Manager for an Australian Sports Nutrition Company.  Outside of the fitness industry,  I have a passion for cars and motorsport, and animals. I am mum to 2 beautiful Siamese cats - Henry and Edward, and in the past have owned and shown Samoyed dogs extensively in NZ.  I enjoy my own gym training,  spending time with friends and attending Supercars/Motorsport events.

My future goals are to share my love of the fitness Industry and the sport of Bodybuilding with others, and help them achieve their goals and dreams and ultimately work further in the Sports Performance field with motorsport athletes, combining both of my passions together.   Just seeing people happy and healthier, achieving Goals and results, excelling in their chosen sport and loving their training sessions is so rewarding.   To be part of my clients journey and share this amazing experience with them is so special.
